We welcomed Marjolein van Tilburg, digital health expert and creator of Chat License, an innovative initiative awarded in the United States for its focus on protecting and empowering children online.
The platform is designed for students aged 9 to 12 a key stage when they begin using their first personal devices. Unlike traditional parental control systems, the programme promotes a model of “media empowerment”: teaching children the rules of the digital road before giving them access to apps such as TikTok, Snapchat or Roblox.
Through interactive scenarios, students learn about safety, privacy, emotional wellbeing and responsible technology use, helping them understand the real consequences of their decisions in the digital world.
