Private, trilingual Sixth Form (Bachillerato, ages 16–18) in Sarrià

Studying for Bachillerato requires order, method and precision. That is why our form tutors train students in time management and study skills to get the most out of their academic performance.

In this way, our students:

• Learn to synthesise information
• Produce good outlines
• Distinguish the main ideas of a text from secondary ones

To ease the transition from Secondary to Sixth Form, we devote the first few weeks to induction sessions. We assess each student to identify their strengths and areas for growth, and draw up a personalised plan. At our bilingual Sixth Form in Sarrià, we encourage teamwork, communication and human relationships, especially when classes are regrouped by study pathway.

Our students have the opportunity to join debating teams and represent the school in inter-school tournaments and competitions such as the Debating League of the Xarxa Vives university network.

In this way, our students are trained in a range of debating techniques, greatly developing their oral skills.

After their journey through the school learning English, the focus now shifts to reaching the highest levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, with most students obtaining the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE, C1) and some the Certificate of Proficiency in English (C2).

Students benefit from the support of international teaching staff, who not only complement classroom teaching but also take part in school events in English or French.

We also encourage students to take part in activities such as the European Youth Parliament and debating and public-speaking competitions to strengthen their language skills.

In 1º de Bachillerato, students who have followed the Dual Diploma programme (Bachillerato Dual) complete the American curriculum alongside their Spanish Bachillerato. This complements their studies and supports applications to universities abroad.

Form tutors guide students in their academic and personal development through one-to-one interviews. They support each student’s careers and vocational guidance, offering the tools and support needed to make an informed choice that fits each student’s individual profile.

We also organise university guidance days with workshops, round tables and presentations on a range of degree courses.

The WE programme allows 1º de Bachillerato students to see the day-to-day workings of a company and gain real work experience, spending working days alongside professionals in the sector they have shown an interest in. We want them to discover the value of work, a vocation for service and teamwork, and to learn to take on professional responsibility.

The aim of the programme is to support and guide students, in the midst of adolescence, at the crucial moment when they finish their school years and open up to a future full of hopes and no few uncertainties. Each student is supported by a mentor (formador) who welcomes them with all their talents and their difficulties too. With full respect for their freedom and their own pace, the mentor walks alongside them through this process of change, helping them to discover their mission in life and to embrace with enthusiasm the challenge of growing towards fulfilment.

We educate our students to live well together, helping them to discover the values that make this possible. This is the aim of our formative discipline: that they take on those values in their own conduct out of personal conviction, and not because a set of rules has simply been imposed.

We use Chromebooks as a tool to encourage collaborative, interactive learning. Our digital environment, based on G Suite for Education, enriches the educational experience by enabling collaboration, communication and secure access to content from anywhere. This ecosystem makes classroom management, organising tasks and continuity of learning easier.

Digital citizenship is built into the curriculum, preparing students to be critical, competent citizens in both the real and the digital world.

In addition, in Industrial Technology (Tecnología Industrial), a subject geared towards engineering degrees, students work with advanced tools such as Arduino, Scratch, 3D printing, augmented reality and app design, developing essential technological skills.
