Our educational approach

Our teachers create an active learning environment in which every child develops their language skills, becomes intellectually curious and reaches their full potential.

Academic excellence

Our Early Years curriculum

In our private nursery in Sarrià (I1 and I2), children learn by playing and exploring the world around them. Through projects and experiments, we develop their curiosity, critical thinking and social skills. Our approach is based on active, collaborative learning, creating an environment where every child feels valued and motivated to learn.

Playful and personalised environment

At our private nursery in Sarrià, we offer a warm and stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued and motivated to learn. Through a personalised approach and a team of highly qualified professionals, we foster the comprehensive development of our students, from cognitive to emotional. We want our students to be happy, self-confident and prepared to face the challenges of the future.

We also have an educational psychology and guidance department that works closely with our teachers, observing lessons and preparing the termly tutorials with parents.

Comprehensive development

Learning Areas

We foster a love of learning in our children through fun and creative activities. We teach them practical maths, offer immersion in three languages, and allow them to explore their artistic side.

Enriched programme

We believe in the all-round development of every child. Alongside the academic programme, in the Early Years children take part in early stimulation activities, sensory workshops and swimming lessons, which improve their motor and artistic skills, strengthen their self-esteem and help them enjoy learning.

Pupils who are supported and guided

Catholic formation, emotional and collaborative education

We believe that education should go beyond the academic. That is why we offer a programme that supports the spiritual, emotional and social development of our pupils. Through our religion lessons and sessions inspired by the Good Shepherd and Godly Play approaches, we teach children to pray and to live the virtues and values, building a community that expresses God’s love through taking part and giving generously.

Our emotional education programme helps children to build a solid foundation of values and develop skills for life.

None of this would be possible without parents. We value the importance of the family and work in partnership with them to give every child the very best.

Trilingual Early Years: educating global pupils

International training

In an English-immersion environment with native and bilingual teachers, our methodology is based on learning through play, which maximises language acquisition. We follow a curriculum that develops listening and speaking, bringing children closer to English-speaking culture through traditional rhymes, stories and songs.

We have native or bilingual support staff who work with small groups, improving listening and speaking through activities such as play and drama. In I4 and I5, children have an English-speaking form tutor who encourages them to use the language. Learning areas such as Science, Motor Skills and Music are also taught in English, creating an environment in which the foreign language becomes a natural, functional tool.

Committed pupils

Formation in virtues: educating for love and service to others

At RMSI we support the all-round development of every pupil through a virtues programme that strengthens their will and helps them to integrate their emotions. We encourage them to take on values through activities and campaigns tailored to each year group.

Service to others is central to our educational approach. Pupils take part in social action initiatives, where they learn the value of giving and the part they play in society.

Education for love focuses on respect and appreciation for oneself and for others, helping pupils to build meaningful relationships. We also instil a sense of responsibility for the environment, encouraging pupils to reflect on it and to take part in caring for the world around them.

Pupils with digital skills

Competent students for the digital and technological era

Why is digital competence important in early childhood education?

At RMSI we see technology as one more tool for learning. That is why we offer an innovative educational programme that brings technology into every area of the curriculum. Through practical, challenging activities, we develop computational thinking, creativity and problem solving.

Digital programmes and tools

We use robots such as Beebots and tools such as Smart Boards to teach our pupils to code and to think creatively. These practical activities develop key skills for the 21st century and prepare our pupils for the challenges of the future.

Key features of our Early Years

At our school, children learn by playing and exploring the world around them. Through meaningful, hands-on learning, we develop their curiosity, creativity and social skills. We also offer immersion in three languages to broaden their horizons and prepare them for a global future. Our aim is for every child to feel confident and ready for whatever life brings.

A day in the Early Years at RMSI

Dear families,

In the Early Years at RMSI, every day is a wonderful adventure for your child. We design our days so that children grow and learn in a fun, enriching environment, and we adapt our activities across three languages so that they develop their language skills from the very beginning.

We begin the day with personalised activities that help children to explore key skills and values through play and hands-on learning. Every day is full of exciting moments, with activities such as robotics and imaginative play that make learning fun and meaningful.

We also encourage collaboration and social skills through group projects and creative activities. We are always here to support every child in their emotional and intellectual growth, making sure they feel valued and understood.
