Values, Family, Tradition

First trilingual Catholic school in Barcelona.
Come and meet us

Since 1946

We are a Catholic, trilingual school with state-subsidised education (concertado) from P3 to 4º de ESO and private Sixth Form (Bachillerato). Our mission is the personal accompaniment (one-to-one guidance and support) of each pupil and their family in the pursuit of academic excellence and all-round development. This accompaniment offers guidance on a personal, academic, social and spiritual level at every stage of a person’s education.

Our goal is for every pupil to become the best version of themselves, discovering their personal and professional vocation and putting their talents at the service of those around them and of society.

We are one big family in the heart of Sarrià, within walls steeped in history but with our eyes on the world. Here, the future is built by innovating from within our tradition.

Monastery of Santa Isabel

The walls of Colegio Santa Isabel stand alongside those of a monastery with centuries of history, whose origins go back to the 16th century, when it was founded as a beaterio (a community house) of Franciscan tertiaries. In 1553 Juana Fornés joined the community and was elected mother superior. A year later they acquired a larger house on Calle d’en Borra and established a chapel, which in 1561 was raised to the status of a public church dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.

As early as the 1940s, the convent’s chaplain, Fr Francesc Ros Vendrell, along with the nuns, promoted the creation of the Colegio Santa Isabel on part of the land the Poor Clares owned in Sarrià. In the mid-1990s, both the school and the monastery were entrusted to the Regnum Christi movement.

The legacy of the Monastery of Santa Isabel lives on through its history of faith, service and resilience, visible in its continual transformations and in the deep spiritual and cultural mark it has left on the city of Barcelona.

Personal accompaniment, a fundamental pillar

Over the years, pupils, families and teachers have built a community where tradition, innovation and values come together to shape people with firm roots and a richer sense of identity. Being part of this community means growing together and building strong bonds that always place the person at the centre.

At Santa Isabel we believe in the power of personal accompaniment. Every pupil is unique, so we walk alongside them, respecting their pace, listening to their concerns and celebrating their achievements. Here we do not just teach, we support and guide; we do not just learn, we live it.

My experience at Santa Isabel

Get to know the school through those who have lived it from the inside. Their stories reflect a shared experience: some have been here all their lives, others have just arrived, but they all agree on one thing — at Santa Isabel, they feel at home.

Here we do not just teach, we support and guide; we do not just learn, we live it. We invite you to discover, through their voices, why Santa Isabel is far more than a school: it is a big family that leaves its mark.
